Smith’s Food & Drug to offer limited supply of free COVID-19 vaccines next week

SALT LAKE CITY – Starting next week, pharmacies in some locations in Utah Smith will offer COVID-19 vaccines after the company obtained a limited supply of the Modern vaccine.

Vaccination appointments will be for people aged 70 and over at pharmacies specializing in blacksmiths from 11 February.

According to Smith, those eligible for the vaccine will be able to schedule an appointment online, then enter the pharmacy, take the injection and wait 10 to 15 minutes to make sure there are no adverse reactions before leaving. Vaccines will be provided free of charge to patients.

“We are so excited. We are ready for this to end like everyone else and to be a part of it is really a great honor,” said Smith’s Pharmacy Director, Jaime Montuoro.

Smith’s says he is trying to get the vaccine in rural areas, as well as underserved areas in metropolitan locations, but they hope to have the vaccine in all of their pharmacies.
