San Luis Obispo County reported 167 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the county total to 18,353 confirmed cases on February 4.
The county also added five new COVID-19-related deaths. To date, there have been 192 deaths in total attributed to the virus in SLO County.
Health officials say 49 people are hospitalized. Another 927 people are recovering at home and health officials say 17,155 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reported that 17 of the 38 licensed and staffed ICU beds in the county are currently occupied. Ten of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 75 additional cases is under investigation and another seven are listed as “others”, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health is not identifying these locations.
The testing sites of the COVID-19 community are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
