San Luis Obispo County reported 217 new cases of COVID-19 in three days, bringing the county total to 18,684 confirmed cases on February 8.
Eighty-eight new cases were added on Saturday, 83 new cases were added on Sunday and 46 new cases were added on Monday.
The county also added two new COVID-19-related deaths. To date, there have been a total of 196 deaths attributed to the virus in SLO County.
Health officials say 43 people are hospitalized. Another 1,136 people are recovering at home and health officials say 17,286 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reported that 20 of the 38 licensed and staffed ICU beds in the county are currently occupied. Eight of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The location of 75 additional cases is under investigation and another seven are listed as “others”, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health is not identifying these locations.
The testing sites of the COVID-19 community are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
