Slap Them All is a new hand-drawn beat-’em-up

Launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch this fall

Earlier this month, word of Revenge of the Shredder made me explode my buried copy, but luckily still findable from Teenagers Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. Now, here’s another ad that makes me look forward to the glory days of Konami’s arcades: a new one Asterix beat-’em-up game.

The nostalgia mining fighter is called Asterix and Obelix: slap everyone and will be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the fall of 2021 from publisher Microids and developer Mr Nutz Studio.

Today’s press release suggests “pretty straightforward” beat-’em-up gameplay – which, hey, that can be totally good! – and also confirms local cooperation. Slap everyone it will cover “the most iconic places in the comic book series” with enemies like “legionaries, pirates, robbers and even the dreaded Normans”.

I’m not sure what it will feel like to fight the Roman threat, but I appreciate the greater than normal effort to achieve the appearance of Asterix and Obelix: slap everyone. Some interesting details there.
