Skyrim can be run at 60FPS on PS5 with a simple mod, does not disable trophies

Skyrim PS5 60fps Mod

And so, someone created a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition that makes the game run at 60 frames per second on PS5 (and PS4, more or less). The mod’s author, MrWright, posted a brief summary of how it works on YouTube, and it’s safe to say that Skyrim never worked better on PlayStation consoles.

By the way, you read the title correctly. As the description of the mod explains, you can actually have Skyrim running at 60fps without sacrificing the functionality of the Trophy. Below is a quick step-by-step analysis of how to make it work.

  1. Download and enable the 60fps mod
  2. Start a save (or start a new one)
  3. Exit back to the main menu (without closing the game completely)
  4. Disable the 60fps mod in the mod menu
  5. Skyrim should now run at 60fps even without the mod enabled, allowing for Trophies (as long as you are not using any other mod)
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 each time you open Skyrim

Again, if you have any other mods enabled, the trophies will still be unavailable.

And yes, this mod technically works on PS4 and PS4 Pro as well, but the results are not as noticeable compared to when the game is running on PS5 for backward compatibility.

So there you have it: Skyrim running at (about) 60fps on PS5. Are you tempted to return to the Dragonborn world with this mod? Scream in the comment section below.
