Sixers hit Spurs 35, while Bball Paul triumphantly returns to Philadelphia

Tonight, the Sixers destroyed the San Antonio Spurs at home, 134-99. In the first game with fans back in the stands in Philadelphia, the Sixers delivered the Spurs their worst defeat in the franchise’s history.

In the team’s first game after Joel Embiid’s absence due to a bone bruise, the Sixers rode 46-21 in the third quarter with an easy win over a decent Spurs team.

Ben Simmons returned to the court for the first time since the All-Star break – he lost the team’s previous two competitions due to NBA health and safety protocols. Simmons shook off the initial rust to add 14 points, nine assists, four rebounds and a steal in 26 minutes.

Tobias Harris was an incredible, top-36 plus. He added 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in just 29 minutes.

Seth Curry and Danny Green played well, scoring 21 and 16 points, respectively.

Furkan Korkmaz made all four attempts at 3 points off the bench on his way to 16 points.

Finally, Isaiah Joe and Bball Paul Reed came back from the G League bubble and scored five and two points, respectively.

Good times.

The Sixers advanced to 27-12 and maintained the team’s first seed in the Eastern Conference.

Philly’s next game is a clash with Julius Randle and the New York Knicks on Tuesday night at home.
