Sixers Bell Ringer: Cold fourth quarter means ruin for Sixers against Toronto

Note: No traditional recap post for tonight’s game.

Sixers Bell Ringer season ranking:

Joel Embiid – 14
Tobias Harris – 5
Ben Simmons – 5
Milton Shake – 3
Tyrese Maxey – 1
Dakota Mathias – 1
Matisse Thybulle – 1

It doesn’t matter if it’s Tampa or north of the border, the Philadelphia 76ers don’t seem capable of winning a street game against the Raptors. The Sixers lost their 16th game straight to Toronto, spending more than seven minutes of the fourth period without making a basket to watch a perfectly winning game slip through their fingers. Here are his Bell Ringer candidates from the 110-103 defeat to the Raptors.

Ben Simmons: 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 return

Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors

After losing two games with the flu, Ben Simmons did not lose the record of his career – the biggest record of 42 points against Utah Ben returned to his aggressive way since jumping in this game, scoring 18 points and trying eight free throws before the break . Simmons would finish the game with 9 sparkling 11 from the field and 10 from 14 from the foul line, those 14 attempts tying Joel Embiid for the honors of the game. Seeing the two stars of the team look for their own attack in the same game was encouraging, despite the defeat.

Joel Embiid: 25 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 turns

Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors

Tonight was very different from the best 50-point bombing in Joel’s career on Friday. The big man had a cold shooting night, going just 6 out of 20 from the ground. Still, he showed some important moves, including his Dream Shake Hakeem Olajuwon in the third quarter. Embiid scored seven points in the last two and a half minutes of the game as part of a final sigh of recovery. 25 and 17 and this was basically a bad game for Joel. He set a very high standard.

Danny Green: 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turns

Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors

Green was fouled after just 24 minutes, but was impactful on both ends during his time on the court. Danny had 3 of 6 behind the hoop, and was an extremely disturbing defensive presence with his seven combined actions. Plus-minus is far from perfect, but it’s hard to pin that defeat anywhere near Green and his best-18 team.
