As the real draft approaches, expect the simulated drafts to have the top five defenders finding their way to the top eight. Also expect the second level of QBs to sneak into Round 2, which is exactly what happens this week in our two-round draft.
No surprise at No. 1 and No. 2, but we still think that Mac Jones has a real chance of reaching third overall for the 49ers. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was Justin Fields or Trey Lance, but even if they passed through San Francisco, we don’t expect them to last beyond the Panthers, who selected eighth overall.
Then, in the second round, we have the Bears and Steelers targeting high-ranking quarterbacks with strong arms because, realistically, neither Andy Dalton nor Ben Roethlisberger are long-term solutions for their respective teams. To see how the rest of the two rounds play out, read on.
