Simon Cowell reportedly further increased security measures at his £ 15 million mansion in south-west London – five years after his Holland Park residence was invaded in a £ 1 million attack.
According to The Sun, the music mogul, 61, moved to secure a ‘blind spot’ at the back entrance to the house, with planning permission granted last month to enforce security measures.
It seems that Simon and his family (partner Lauren Silverman and son Eric, seven) do not currently live on the property and will not be moving for ‘very long’.

A source told the website: ‘After the terrible experience he had a few years ago, Simon doesn’t want to repeat it. He is aware of the threat of theft and being in the public eye means he is a potential target.
‘When he bought the place, he made plans for cutting edge security and these arrangements are increasing his efforts even more.
“The most important thing for Simon is the safety of his family. No expense was spared. ‘

Security complaints come six years after Darren February stormed Cowell’s five-bedroom property in upscale Holland Park through a patio door and stole jewelry and two passports.

Just ten days after stealing the home of the supreme X Factor in December 2015, he hit his father and biker Kenneth Baldwin, 52, with a car and killed him after driving the wrong side of the road at 58 mph.
February has already been convicted of 37 assaults, repeatedly targeting the wealthy areas of Kensington and Bayswater, which have provided ‘big gains’, prosecutor Denis Barry said.
When he broke into Cowell’s home on December 4, he was licensed for other thefts and public order crimes.
He committed 58 crimes in two decades and was first convicted at the age of 12.

‘Lauren and I went to bed at 12:30 in the morning of the robbery, and I believe my nanny and son were already asleep.
“Next, I remember being woken up by Simon Williams, who said that there was an incident on the property, that we had been robbed and that we should stay in the room.
‘Lauren and I asked about my son and we were very concerned with making sure he was okay.
“Our safe was opened and the items taken away. Lauren was flying abroad that morning and she wanted to silently pick up her jewelry.
‘The security guard came up to me and told me that my passports and brown 1920’s folder had been recovered and I realized they had been taken.’
Cowell said that among the jewelry items were watches worth £ 200,000, diamond rings worth £ 500,000, diamond earrings worth £ 220,000 and diamond bracelets worth £ 50,000.
Most items have not been recovered. He added: ‘No one has the right or authority to steal from Lauren or myself and I will go to court if necessary.’
In 2016, February was jailed for eight and a half years for causing death for driving dangerously not far from Cowell’s home.

According to The Sun, the media personality was adding a house with a pool, a bar, three new vehicle gates, a pergola and a ‘glass conservatory lantern ceiling’ in their existing conservatory for an ideal sun ‘throughout the year in a private position ‘
The publication also claimed that the talent manager will strengthen security in his home by updating the current lighting system and cameras.

In August, Simon was rushed to the hospital for six hours of surgery after breaking his back in an electric bicycle accident, forcing him to cancel all of his planned TV work for the rest of the year.
The X Factor judge was in LA while recovering from the accident, but was seen looking happy and healthy in Barbados for a family trip last month.
The accident occurred when the powerful machine ‘flew in the air and made an accidental spin’ after he tried to change gears.
The head of the music is believed to have been “surprised by the power” of the bike and knew immediately that “he was in trouble”.
After the accident, Simon tweeted: ‘Good advice … If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before riding it for the first time.’
He continued: ‘I broke part of my back. Thank you all for your kind messages. ‘
He then added in a second tweet: ‘And a big thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Be safe, everyone, Simon. ‘
His recent injuries and ongoing recovery have left him out of the 2020 series resumed from Britain’s Got Talent after she returned after England’s first blockade.
