Shares in silver miners dominated the NYSE list of biggest winners on Monday morning, as did the commercial frenzy that sent heavily sold shares like GameStop Corp.
and AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC,
firing last week seems to engulf the silver metal. SI00 silver futures,
skyrocketed 12% in the morning trades towards an 8-year high, putting them on the road to the biggest one-day gain since March 2009. The shares of Gatos Silver Inc., GATO,
charged up 41.9% to lead all NYSE winners, while Hecla Mining Co. shares HL,
ranked second on the list with a 36.6% increase, Endeavor Silver Corp shares EXK,
ranked third with a 26.7% gain and shares in Coeur Mining Inc., CDE,
came in fourth place with an increase of 26.6%. Also in the shares of First Majestic Silver Corp. AG,
rose 23.4% and Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. FSM,
gained 18.0%. The rise in stocks comes as the S&P 500 SPX,
rose 0.5%.
