Showtime is set to develop a limited series with no title THE Comey rule Billy Ray and Shane Salerno cohorts that will track the events that led to the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol. Driven to the frenzy by a speech by outgoing President Donald Trump pressing unfounded allegations of a stolen election, Trump supporters forced their way into the building and wandered its corridors in search of lawmakers who were at the time certifying the electoral results they had made Successor to Joe Biden Trump. Showtime commissioned three scripts for the untitled limited series on the events leading up to the January 6 attack. Ray will write and direct the series, and Salerno will be the executive producer. They played these roles in the mini Comey, which became Showtime’s most watched limited series when it aired last September. He was nominated for two Golden Globes and starred Jeff Daniels as former FBI chief James Comey, and Brendan Gleeson as Trump.

The limited series will examine and explore various points of view of the events leading up to the January 6 attack, including the final days of the Trump administration, and will culminate in the attack itself, the consequences and investigations by the FBI and Congress. The narrative is still unfolding and the arrests of those who violated the Capitol and assaulted the police are still being made.

The series will be produced by Story Factory / Wink Pictures, and Salerno, Josh McLaughlin and Ray will serve as executive producers.
