Shot at Walmart in Glenolden, Delaware County, linked to the Darby standoff: Police

DARBY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A shootout inside a Walmart led to a stalemate in Darby, Delaware County on Sunday afternoon, Action News learns.

At around 8:30 am, police said the male suspect shot himself inside a Walmart located on Boulevard MacDade in Glenolden.

Police confirm that the suspect shot an employee, but missed. The incident may have been due to a video game. Nobody was hurt.

On Sunday afternoon, SWAT and several dozen police raided a house on Block 400 on Main Street in Darby Borough, where the suspect lives. Police used the suspect’s phone to track him to Darby’s location, according to investigators.

Action Cam showed policemen with their guns pointed at a building and several policemen on foot, covering the streets.

For hours, the police tried to get the suspect out of the house, but the police now believe the suspect ran away before he got there.

Residents of the area were able to return to their homes at around 4 pm.

Police say the suspect may be armed and dangerous. He was not identified at this time.
