East Tennessee incident notifications wrote to Twitter after the incident: “No recorded casualties. Possibly some patients with medical emergencies.”

A follow-up tweet at 4:56 pm Eastern time, about 26 minutes later, said: “JUST ONE shot fired. 3 detainees. No victims.”

No additional information was revealed about the suspects and their identities.

Police officers searched the building after the incident.

At 3:45 pm Eastern time, emergency medical services were on site, along with a Lifestar helicopter.

At the time of the report, the sniper was still in the store.

A Facebook user claimed his brother was at the store and said, “It looked like an assault rifle.”

The woman claimed that her brother said “the guy was chasing people outside [sic] door.”

Another woman told ABC6 WATE that she was in the parking lot and heard shots.

Tracey Houston told the news agency: “My friend since we were 10 years old was still there, luckily a guy pushed her through the side door.

“But she is extremely shaken now. There are all the policemen in Sevierville there now working on it.”

According to WVLT, Sevierville police confirmed that two people were arrested approximately 40 minutes after the initial report.

A third suspect was first reported as pending.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office told an Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter that “there is no continuing danger” after news of the shooting.

Store manager Chick-Fil-A told WVLT that dozens of people left Walmart shortly after 3:30 pm.

The store manager, David Simms, said: “We are allowing everyone to call their loved ones and bring water or something for them to eat and ensuring that everyone feels comfortable.”

After the shooting, the Sevierville Police warned of a traffic warning on Twitter.

The 5pm ET tweet said: “The north and south lanes are closed and traffic is not moving from Cate Rd to Collier Dr. On Parkway.

“Please use back roads / alternate routes if you are traveling in this area.”
