Shia LaBeouf is seeking “long-term inpatient treatment” and acknowledged that she “needs help” amid a lawsuit from her ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs, according to her lawyer.

Earlier this month, FKA Twigs filed a bombing lawsuit in Los Angeles County against the “Honey Boy” actor, who accused him of “relentless abuse”.

FKA Twigs, born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, accused LaBeouf of sexual assault, aggression and the imposition of emotional suffering during the course of their relationship, which lasted just under a year.

Karolyn Pho, LaBeouf’s stylist and ex-girlfriend, accused him of similar behavior in the process.

In a statement to Variety, LaBeouf’s lawyer said the 34-year-old man was “actively” seeking treatment to deal with his behavior.

“Shia needs help and he knows it,” said Shawn Holley, a famous lawyer who once worked on OJ Simpson’s defense team.

“We are actively pursuing the type of meaningful, intensive and long-term hospital treatment that he desperately needs,” added Holley.

Bryan Freedman, a lawyer at FKA Twigs, told Variety that the lawsuit was formally opened after LaBeouf allegedly “was not willing to agree to getting adequate help”.

Freedman told the channel that FKA Twigs and Pho tried to resolve the particular issue beforehand.

“This is not Shia’s career,” Freedman told Variety. “It is about ensuring that the trauma and pain inflicted on my clients and others does not happen again. Shia is an admitted abuser and needs significant help in dealing with his violent behavior.”

Holley, however, resisted Freedman’s remarks in a statement to Variety.

“When these allegations first came out a year ago, Shia immediately accepted responsibility for the many things he had done wrong and expressed his willingness to do what Twigs wanted him to do, almost all of which were perfectly reasonable,” said Holley.

Holley told the agency that LaBeouf had “paid, booked, rescheduled” the mediation set up by the singer’s lawyer, which ended up being canceled.

“Shia’s position never changed and I went to Mr. Freedman to see how things can get back on track,” he said.

The consequences of the lawsuit were immediate for LaBeouf after the news was released on December 11.

FKA Twigs and LaBeouf met on the set of “Honey Boy”, a 2019 film that detailed the ex-Disney star’s childhood with his father and, later, his fight against addiction.

In the process, FKA Twigs said that LaBeouf intentionally gave her a sexually transmitted disease and reportedly grabbed her so hard that her skin hurt. Other allegations included LaBeouf shooting stray dogs with a gun to enter the character of his 2020 film, “The Tax Collector”.

“What I went through with the Shiites was the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life,” FKA Twigs told The New York Times this month.

“I don’t think people would think it would happen to me,” she added. “But I think that’s it. It can happen to anyone.”

In a statement to the Times, LaBeouf said that “many of these allegations are not true”, but he owed women “the opportunity to publicly expose his statements and accept responsibility for the things I did”.

“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, just rationalizations,” said LaBeouf. “I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting people close to me. I am ashamed of this story and I am sorry for those I have hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”

Following the process, some who previously worked with LaBeouf, including “Honey Boy” director Alma Har’el and singer Sia, expressed support for FKA Twigs.

Netflix removed mention of LaBeouf from its award campaign due to the allegations.

LaBeouf was fired from Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film, “Don’t Worry Darling”, for “bad behavior”, according to Variety.
