Shia LaBeouf was eliminated from promotional material for the new Netflix movie, Pieces of a Woman, after his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit last month accusing him of ‘relentless abuse’.

The 34-year-old surrogate actor plays a leading role in the film, which is due to be released on the streaming platform on January 7 and is expected to be successful in awards.

Vanessa Kirby, who co-stars with LaBeouf in the film, is already earning praise, having received the award for best actress at the Venice Film Festival, and now must secure an Oscar nomination, alongside Ellen Burstyn, who plays her mother her.

But LaBeouf, who was previously a favorite for an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor, was recently removed from the streaming giant’s movie summary on its website.

And now the star’s name and face appear to have been completely erased from Netflix’s most recent ads promoting the film, Page Six reported.

An ad posted on Twitter by the Netflix Film account on December 22, but recently promoted, says: ‘Vanessa Kirby and Ellen Burstyn star in Pieces of a Woman, a story about the love and loss of a mother. On Netflix January 7. ‘

By omitting LaBeouf’s name from the caption, the trailer also does not feature images of him and makes no mention of his role in the film.

The static image from the trailer shows a close-up of Kirby’s face, with white tiles from the bathroom in the background and no one else visible in the photo.

Stills from the film, however, show that the scene actually shows Kirby looking at LaBeouf, stroking his face, although he appears to have been cut in the new image.

Last month, LaBeouf also had his name removed from Netflix’s ‘For Your Consideration for Prizes’ page, which promoted the film.

Kirby was considered the best actress, but LaBeouf’s name was left out of the list.

The description says: ‘Martha (Vanessa Kirby) and Sean are a Boston couple on the verge of parenthood, whose lives change irrevocably when a home birth ends in an unimaginable tragedy.’

LaBeouf’s name was visibly not included in parentheses next to that of his character Sean.

Netflix has not yet returned a request from DailyMail.com for comment.

LaBeouf’s apparent omission of any promotional material from the film came shortly after artist FKA Twigs – real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett – filed a lawsuit against him in December, accusing him of sexual assault, aggression and inflicting emotional suffering.

In his lawsuit, Twigs claims that LaBeouf knowingly gave her an STD and abused her – both emotionally and physically – during their relationship.

The pair dated for less than a year before wrapping things up in May 2019, with sources saying that at the time the separation depended on their working hours.

In a detailed incident in the process, LaBeouf was reportedly speeding in Los Angeles in February 2019, when they were returning from a trip to the desert.

He took off his seat belt and threatened to crash the car unless she said she loved him, the lawsuit says.

LaBeouf stopped at a gas station after Twigs begged him to stop and let her out. When she took her bags out of the trunk, LaBeouf allegedly threw her against the car, yelled in her face and forced her back into the vehicle.

Just before the gas station incident, Twigs claims that she woke up in the middle of the night to find the Transformers actor suffocating her.

In response to his ex’s allegations, LaBeouf released a statement to the New York Times that ‘many of these allegations are not true’, although he admitted ‘I am not in a position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel’.

“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, just rationalizations,” he said. ‘I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting those closest to me. I’m ashamed of this story and I’m sorry for those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say. ‘

The singer Sia accused the actor of ‘cheating her’ in an adulterous relationship with him, calling him a ‘pathological liar’. LaBeouf had already starred in his music video for the song Elastic Heart in 2015.

Composer Katy Rose also claimed that she once ‘groped’ it ‘violently’ at a party in the Hollywood Hills and stylist Karolyn Pho entered the Twigs lawsuit.

Pho, a stylist, claimed in the suit that LaBeouf ‘drunk pinned her to a bed and headbutted her, enough for her to bleed’.

Questions also arose about his sudden departure from Olivia Wilde’s film, Don’t Worry Darling.

LaBeouf was chosen for a role, but left the project before starting to shoot and was replaced by Harry Styles.

Kirby spoke in support of all survivors of the abuse in an interview with the UK’s Sunday Times over the weekend, before the film’s release.

“I am with all survivors of abuse and respect the courage of anyone who speaks their truth,” she said in a statement. “Regarding the recent news, I cannot comment on an ongoing legal process.”
