Shelby Harris signing again with the team

The Denver Broncos are bringing back Shelby Harris, the attacker’s agent announced on Twitter on Monday. Denver will give Harris a three-year, $ 27 million contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Harris (6-2, 290 pounds) entered the NFL as a choice in Illinois’ seventh round with the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders in 2014. He spent the first two years of his career with the Raiders, playing moderately as a rotational defensive line player.

Harris then spent time with the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys before landing at the Broncos in 2017. He quickly emerged as a starter in Denver, totaling 33 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his first season with the Broncos.

Over the past four years, Harris has recorded 154 tackles, 33 quarterback strikes, 23 pass splits, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception in 59 games. He is one of the best defensive line players on the team.

Harris will likely start in front of Dre’Mont Jones at one of Denver’s two defensive end points this season, with Mike Purcell starting on the nose.
