Shawn Johnson says she tested positive for coronavirus, as she is expecting her second child with her husband Andrew East (who had previously tested positive for the virus).
The 29-year-old Olympic gymnast opened her diagnosis in a post on Instagram Stories on Sunday, writing: ‘I got my results today and they tested positive for Covid. I’m not going to lie … I’m nervous knowing that I’m sure. My body is exhausted. ‘
Johnson, who shares daughter Drew, one, with East, 29, noted that ‘two weeks have passed since [Respiratory Syncytial Virus] with Drew and now that. ‘

She wrote: ‘1. I don’t want to make my family sick. 2. I have asthma and have had my entire life, so it scares me a little more. 3. A very close member fought for his life last month fighting Covid, so it is a serious matter of concern / hits home in our home. ‘
Johnson said she is currently dealing with ‘a cough, a terrible sore throat and a headache’ as well as ‘fatigue’, the last one she attributed to the pregnancy.
‘I’m not looking for any kind of [pity] party, ‘she wrote. ‘Just a reminder to take care of yourself. Drink more water tonight and wash your hands 🙂 ‘

Later, she added: ‘Praying so hard for all those babies out there tonight (sentimental mommy here) and everyone fighting for their health. Ok … this emotional mess of a human is going to try to sleep now. Love you all.’
