Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood still at odds

It has been almost a week since Sharon Osbourne criticized Sheryl Underwood for questioning her defense of Piers Morgan’s controversial comments about Meghan Markle in “The Talk”, and the co-hosts have not yet reconciled.

“Sharon is upset with Sheryl because she feels she has helped to sow that she is racist, and [Osbourne]he is unable to rationalize that this is not what happened, ”a source on the CBS daytime program told Page Six.

In fact, the source said, Sharon went crazy after the show and shouted, “I’m calling my lawyers!”

Osbourne made a long apology to those she offended in the black community, but did not mention Underwood.

A source close to Osbourne, however, told us that she contacted Underwood personally.

“She texted her with a very detailed, emotional and sincere apology on Friday. It was very personal and Sheryl did not respond to it, ”said the source.

Osbourne later gave an interview to Variety magazine, where she criticized CBS for surprising her with the segment.

But sources told us that it was Osbourne who initially wanted to talk about Morgan and Markle on the show.

“Whenever Sharon is on the news, she always goes to the producers and wants to talk about it on the show. She was aggressive about supporting Piers on social media and was dragged into it.

“She came to work after being labeled a racist on Twitter and asked to talk about what was going on online. Is it over there [was not] surprised by CBS, ”said the source.

Osbourne would initially talk about this in a monologue, but “30-35 minutes” before going live, we were told that the producers changed their mind and decided that they wanted an argument between the hosts.

The source continued: “Everyone knew there would be an argument. Sharon was already hyperemotional and expected coverage from Sheryl, so she felt attacked. She blames Sheryl. At the post-show meeting, she shouted, ‘I’m calling my lawyers!’ “

The Osbourne source explained: “Sharon was expecting perhaps two questions, not a 20-minute segment. It broke precedents and, to make matters worse, [the ladies] had a moment to come to Jesus a few weeks ago, swearing to have each other’s backs. Her being attacked the way it was, it was very painful. “

CBS announced that it was investigating the exchange after Osbourne dropped the “F bomb” twice, including shouting, “I can’t be racist. I am one [bleeping] Jewish.”

And Page Six exclusively revealed co-host Elaine Welteroth and her hairstylist complained that there is an alleged “racially insensitive and hostile environment” on the show

The investigation comes after years of other high-profile scandals involving a toxic work environment and racial allegations on the network.

A CBS representative did not comment, but released a statement on Friday after the announcement.

“We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful work environment,” they said.

“The Talk” suspended live episodes and aired previously recorded shows on Monday and Tuesday. They are expected to return to the live shows on Wednesday.
