‘Shameless’ recap: Season 11, Episode 11 – [Spoiler] Dead?

ShamelessThe end of the series will not air for another week, but a member of the Gallagher family may already be leaving.

In Sunday’s episode, Liam feels sorry for Frank, who has lost control of his bodily functions, and does a “Frank stuff” day with him, as if to pretend to be blind beggars. Frank’s mood temporarily improves after earning $ 100 and having sex with a prostitute. But when the pair goes to Alibi, Frank’s body rejects his beloved alcohol, leaving him wondering who he is without the drink. Oh, and Debbie starts hitting Frank because he ruined his love for her.

“The only way for you to have love is to find someone who is a loser even bigger than you! Then they will not leave you! Frank exclaims from the floor.

Frank and Liam return home, where Frank finds Lip standing in the tattered kitchen, his face an image of despair after missing out on the chance to sell the house. Looking around at the mess, Frank says, “I know what you’re doing! You’re looking for that golden brick that we hid when you were 12, aren’t you? ”He reminds Lip that they buried him in the yard, bringing a small, temporary smile to Lip’s face during an unexpectedly tender moment between father and son.

But with his insanity getting worse, Frank goes to extremes: he gets up (“Ah, this is much better,” he says quietly) and puts a letter addressed to the “Gallagher family” in the mantle. The message then falls to the floor while Frank gets up again and falls on the couch, his eyes closing. Is it the end of the troubled patriarch of the Gallagher clan? Only time (and the end of the series next Sunday) will tell.

Some other highlights from the episode: Carl finds out that his ex-girlfriend Tish is pregnant, and she doesn’t respond when he asks if it’s her baby; Debbie begins to fall in love with a dangerous convict; Mickey has a hard time adapting to life on the west side, but comes to terms with Ian; and Kev and V put the bar up for sale.
