Several Buckeyes getting first round buzz
The NFL draft is only three months away, and several Buckeyes are preparing to impress scouts before the draft.
It is early, but the last simulated draft shows that several Buckeyes will be selected in the first round of the draft, which will take place on Thursday, April 29.
Quarterback Justin Fields, who broke records in Ohio and led the Buckeyes to two Big Ten titles and two appearances in the College Football Playoff, is projected to be selected as the fourth overall choice by the Atlanta Falcons in the latest draft of The Draft Jordan Reid from the Web. If selected by the Falcons, Fields may be the heir apparent after Atlanta starting quarterback Matt Ryan, who is 35.
Former Buckeyes All-American point guard Wyatt Davis should also be chosen in the first round. Reid projects that Davis will be selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 27th overall choice. Davis could reinforce the interior of the Ravens’ offensive line and meet with former Buckeye runner JK Dobbins.
Although recruitment is still months away, the Buckeyes are already designed to have a great night in the first round.
First applicants start careers in Ohio
Ohio welcomed 15 members of its 2021 recruiting class to the campus over the weekend. The arrival on campus marked the official start of the career of those 15 Buckeyes.
The newest members of the football program will have a lot to do to adapt to the program and thrive. Jeremy Birmingham, from Lettermen Row, has more about it below:
The two tailbacks, Treveyon Henderson and Evan Pryor, were unable to play in their states of Virginia and North Carolina. 5-star receiver Emeka Egbuka failed to adapt in Washington, tight end Sam Hart failed in Colorado and forwards Tyleik Williams (Virginia) and Jack Sawyer (Ohio) also did not play as veterans. The main reasons why so many children enroll early is the opportunity to play earlier in college, but these seven children have not played football in over a year.
This is going to be a big adjustment, one of many that comes with losing the last act of being a high school student. Ohio is a different world.

Buckeyes already starting the quarterback competition
The Buckeyes are already advancing into the next season after losing their national title earlier this month. And the most important agenda for the next season? Find a new quarterback to replace Justin Fields. This competition is already starting and will be a big part of spring training in March.
Lettermen Row has more information on where the quarterback battle is now:
Stroud and Miller would apparently enter this offseason with an advantage over McCord. Both signed up at the beginning of last year hoping to get the much-needed representatives as freshmen. Instead, what happened was a global pandemic that canceled spring training, eliminated non-conference games and drew valuable representatives from defenders who now competed to be the starter.
Miller played moderately against Nebraska in the season’s opening win and Stroud took some pictures at the end of the season, including one in the Sugar Bowl semi-final win over Clemson. But neither attempted a pass. Among the three quarterback candidates, there are no attempts at career approval at the university level. None.
