Rogen shares some wild stories behind the scenes of “This Is the End” in a new interview.
In a new interview for GQ Magazine, Seth Rogen addresses the long-standing rumor that Emma Watson broke into the set of “This Is The End”. Rogen co-wrote and co-directed the 2013 apocalypse comedy with collaborator Evan Goldberg. Watson appeared in the film as a version of herself, and the “Harry Potter” actress is said to have left the set after refusing to film a scene in which Channing Tatum appears as a gimp on Danny McBride’s cannibal collar. Rogen confirmed the incident, but said it never generated any tension or hostility.
“I mean, I don’t look back and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ Do you know? “Rogen said.” I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life, it doesn’t seem to be what you thought. But it wasn’t a terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with the way the film ended.
“She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it, ”added Rogen, suggesting that the scene in question was much more relaxed in the theatrical cut of the film compared to what Watson was presented during filming.
“This Is the End” was a critical and commercial success for Rogen, raising $ 126 million worldwide. The comedian also told GQ Magazine about another behind-the-scenes moment that defined his experience of working on “This Is the End”, the story of which is presented in Rogen’s next book, “Yearbook”.
GQ reports: “When doing the apocalypse comedy ‘This Is The End’, Rogen asked Snoop Dogg if he would write a song for her. Snoop agreed, went to the studio, wrote the chorus, before Rogen asked him if he could rap a verse too – something Snoop hadn’t planned on. In Rogen’s words: ‘He lowered his head and thought for a long moment. Then he looked at one of his boys, narrowed his eyes and said, “Bring the hoes.” ‘In which, a band of six hitherto invisible women entered, each’ heavily dressed as strippers’, who started dancing around Snoop for 20 minutes while he wrote a verse on his BlackBerry. “
