While Tom Brady defended the case of the greatest athlete of all time on Sunday night, about 9,600 miles away, Serena Williams said, “Not so fast, friend.”
With all due respect to Brady and his fellow Super Bowl winners, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was not the only GOAT in action. Serena won the night with her performance on the court at the Australian Open, a reference outfit and world domination worldwide.
Even before having played a single point in her 6-1 and 6-1 rout in the first round over Laura Siegemund, the 39-year-old had already appeared during that From others sporting event in a memorable Super Bowl commercial.
Soon after, the 23-time main champion made everyone speak, once again, when entering the court wearing a colorful, asymmetrical one-legged jumpsuit. She later said that the look was inspired by the late music star Florence Griffith Joyner.
“I was inspired by Flo-Jo, who was an excellent track and field athlete, an incredible athlete when I was a child,” she said later. “Watching her fashion, always changing, her clothes have always been amazing. This year we thought about what we can do to continue raising Serena Williams on the court. The Nike team really thought about this Flo-Jo inspired project. I was like, ‘Oh , my God, this is so brilliant. ‘ “

Although the jumpsuit appears to be unavailable for purchase at the moment, Nike has presented a series of T-shirts celebrating Serena’s legendary achievements and iconic status. Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, was even spotted wearing one in his box during the match.
If you are thinking “QUEEN!” for yourself at this point, as you relive your amazing night, it looks like she would agree.
