Sen. Mitt Romney ridiculed by Trump supporters at the airport

Supporters of President Donald Trump scoffed at Senator Mitt Romney at a Utah airport for not supporting the president before Congress told the results of the electoral vote.

In a video posted on Twitter, Romney appears to be waiting for his flight from Salt Lake City to Washington, DC in the waiting area when an angry woman approaches him and yells at him for not agreeing with President Trump’s allegations of electoral fraud.

“Why are you not supporting President Trump? You are not supporting him, ” the woman asks.

“I support President Trump,” replies Romney. “I’m sorry, I agree with many of the things that he stands for and support.”

The woman did not like the answer and continued to press Romney over the election results.

“It is a long history, but it is a constitutional process and the constitution is clear,” says Romney. “I will follow the constitution and explain it all when we meet in Congress this week.”

“You were voted as a conservative to represent conservative voters. Period, ”the woman barks back.

“Actually, that’s not how the constitution works,” replies Romney before closing his laptop and leaving.

Other video shows passengers inside a plane shouting: “Traitor! Traitor! Traitor!”

Romney expressed that he will vote to certify electoral victory for President-elect Joe Biden.

The Republican senator even called his colleagues from the Republican Party for opposing the certification of the results of the presidential elections.

“The blatant ploy of rejecting voters may increase the political ambition of some, but it dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic,” Romney said in a statement on Sunday.

“Congress’ power to reject voters is reserved for the most extreme and unusual circumstances. These are far from that. More Americans participated in this election than ever, and they made their choice. ”
