See Lady Gaga singing the national anthem held by Joe Biden

Lady Gaga presented a stimulating interpretation of the national anthem in Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Wednesday.

The singer, born Stefani Germanotta, received applause from the crowd outside the US Capitol when finishing her presentation of “The Star-Spangled Banner”.

The opening was not Gaga’s first time singing the national anthem on a big stage: she sang the anthem before the Super Bowl 50 in 2016 between Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.

Gaga’s performance was the first of several performances scheduled during the opening, with Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks expected to continue with performances later in the ceremony. Also on the agenda during the ceremony is a reading of Amanda Gorman’s poetry.

At night, several networks will also broadcast a special “Celebrating America” on television, from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Presented by Tom Hanks, the special will feature performances by Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, Jon Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, John Legend, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen and more.
