HOUSTON – As more doses of the coronavirus vaccine arrive in the Houston area, officials are accelerating the process of administering these vaccines.

The Houston Department of Health has launched an online registration portal and a telephone line where people can register for consultations. Demand has been high and long waiting times have been reported for the telephone line.
On January 4, the Department of Health announced that consultations at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic are scheduled for the rest of January and that additional consultations are not being held at this time. Officials said that as the city’s dose allocation increases, more consultations will be available.

Fort Bend Health and Human Services has launched an online registration portal where people can register for consultations when receiving vaccine shipments.

Authorities said they plan to vaccinate some members of the general public when the vaccine is made available to the county. Information on how to make an appointment will be posted at https://mcphd-tx.org/ when doses are available.
Authorities said the vaccine will be distributed to Brazoria County health clinics as soon as the county receives its vaccine shipments. They said residents should follow the latest updates at https://www.brazoriacountytx.gov/.

Authorities said patients should contact the provider directly to determine the availability of the vaccine.
