The original Pokémon Snap, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, saw players ride the Zero-One buggy across Pokémon Island generically called by Professor Oak. New Pokémon Snap offers players a whole new region to explore, a new teacher to guide them and new ways to edit and share endless photos of adorable pocket monsters.

We are conducting an ecological survey of the Lental region in New Pokémon Snap. Guided by Professor Mirror, we will ride on Zero-One once again, documenting the wild Pokémon from the various islands in the Lental Region.

We will take pictures of pocket monsters by placing their pocket monsters, classified from one to four stars based on the composition of the photo, poses and how much of the photo frame is filled. Playing special items in Pokémon can change the way they behave, giving us the opportunity to capture rare poses. The camera can be used to scan and also to photograph, discovering hidden monsters and other secrets lurking in the landscape.

New Pokémon Snap it’s not just about filling a Pokédex. We will also be able to edit our personal photos, adding filters and stickers, and uploading them to the internet to be evaluated by our peers.

While there are new layers and features for the game, New Pokémon Snap it seems to have the same energy as the original 22 years ago. I can’t wait to sit and watch some pocket monsters when the new game falls on April 30th.
