Boston Dynamics robots can climb rugged terrain, help doctors and remind humans maintain social distance protocols in public parks. We have just been reminded that sophisticated robots can also learn choreography.

In a video posted by Boston Dynamics on Tuesday, the company’s machines – Atlas, Spot the dog robot and Handle – dance in unison with Contours’ hit Do You Love Me.

The bots are so good at shaking the dance floor that it almost looks like you’re watching a robot version of the movie Dirty Dancing, which also featured the song.

“Our entire team came together to celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year: Happy New Year from all of us at Boston Dynamics,” says the video description.

This is not the first time that Boston Dynamics has exhibited the sweet dance moves of its robots. The company presented a video of its Spot robot dancing to the music of Uptown Funk in 2018.

Previously, the Atlas robot showed that it had gymnastic skills. Atlas, the nearly 5-foot humanoid robot can complete a series of somersaults, jumps, twists and a handstand. He also understands how to navigate a complex obstacle course.

Spot the robot dog It’s so impressive. Not only did we see the twerk robot, but it can also open doors, herding sheep, carry heavy loads, and pull Adam Savage in a rickshaw.

The Handle robot is best known for its ability to loading boxes into warehouses. Can lift 30 pound boxes stack pallets with ease.
