Security restrictions for Covid-19 begin to ease in South Carolina

Coronavirus safety restrictions are being loosened across South Carolina. For a start, North Myrtle Beach abandoned its requirement for a restaurant mask. City officials made the call yesterday after Governor McMaster signed an executive order reducing the status of mask decrees in restaurants from a requirement for a directive. DHEC has also just launched revised rules for personal visits to nursing homes. They will be allowed if the following standards are met: the facility’s county has a positivity rate of 10% or less, no cases among employees or residents in the last 14 days and the CMS Covid-19 central prevention principles are being followed for. The six counties that currently have a positivity rate in excess of 10% are: Allendale, Barnwell, Chesterfield, Lancaster, McCormick and York.
