Secret messages in Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan

Two hours

Again, before filming even started, CBS announced that it would be a 90-minute special.

After conducting the interviews, supposedly over two days, the network has now extended the program to two hours.

The decision is thought to have been made due to the strength of the couple’s comments, something that can cause discomfort in palace circles.

The Sussex were not involved in the editing and had no control over the final production.

The decision to extend the run time will have been made by Harpo Productions, Winfrey’s producer. The extension, of course, will also allow the company to place more ads in the program, making it even more profitable.

Muted

The suggestion that Meghan was somehow silenced by the royal family is designed to gain sympathy for her agreeing to this two-hour, barrier-free prime time.

The couple was investigated for agreeing to speak to the queen of the United States chat program, despite complaining about media intrusion and unwanted advertising.

The couple is expected to argue that they deserve to tell their version of the story – in the face of “relentless” and “inaccurate” press coverage, no doubt citing the legal action they took against Mail on Sunday over the publication of Meghan’s letter to his father, Thomas Markle Snr and the controversial story about Harry and the Royal Marines.

The palace is likely to see unfavorably any suggestion that Meghan is not allowed to speak, however.

They will point to her Grenfell cookbook, the countless speeches she and Harry made during their engagements, the Queen taking her under her wing with a trip on the Royal train and Meghan seeming to dominate the conversation during a tour with the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge to expose her vision of charity in February 2018.

Throughout the process, the home team has endeavored to point out that they “have bent over backwards” to accommodate the Sussex needs and demands.
