Second Gamecock declares for NBA Draft

Guard south carolina Jermaine Couisnard is joining the teammate Keyshawn Bryant in declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft without signing with an agent. If Couisnard does not hire any representative, his NCAA eligibility will remain intact, as long as he withdraws his name from the process before a predetermined date.

Couisnard becomes the fifth Gamecock to depart from the program last week, joining Bryant and a trio of players who left the program via the NCAA Transfer Portal: guards Trae Hannibal and TJ Moss and forward Jalyn McCreary.

Couisnard, a native of East Chicago, Ind., Has just completed his third year and second season with the men’s basketball program Gamecocks. He was ineligible as a real freshman in 2018-19, was a selection of the SEC All-Freshman team in 2019-20, and played in 17 games (14 matches) and had an average of 10.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in 2020-21.
