SEC projections for the 2020 season

The South Carolina basketball team returns many talents from a team that won 18 games last season. Where are they at the SEC?

Frank Martin and the South Carolina basketball team are back on campus and preparing for next season. Expectations will be high at Columbia, with coach Martin returning a wealth of talent from a team that won 18 games and defeated current national champion Virginia Cavaliers.

Gamecocks have won double-digit conference games and finished in the top half of the league in four of the past five seasons. In 2020, they bring back almost all of their major contributors, with graduation from the Maik Kotsar center and the transfer of sniper Jair Bolden being the only defections.

South Carolina received fantastic news earlier this month when point guard AJ Lawson chose to return to his junior season, meaning that eight of Gamecocks’ top ten scorers last year are back. Lawson led the team with 13.4 points per dispute.

With a strong return to Columbia for next season, where are the Gamecocks at the SEC?
