Whether you like it or not, no SEC team has been able to slow Alabama’s basketball down to a conference so far.
That can all change on Tuesday night.
Alabama continued its SEC campaign last week, taking Kentucky down by 20 points at the Rupp Arena on Tuesday night before dismantling Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at Coleman Coliseum 90-59. Jahvon Quinerly returned to the roster after losing two weeks due to an unspecified medical condition, and Herb Jones played 22 minutes, despite dislocating a finger in Kentucky.
However, the week was not just good news for Maré Crimson. Striker Jordan Bruner is expected to lose 4-6 weeks due to a meniscus tear, which is a big loss for the team. LSU has several major players that will exploit Bruner’s shortage in Alabama, which could change the game for the Tigers.
Speaking of LSU, Tigers also had a successful week. The team beat Arkansas and South Carolina at Baton Rouge. Although South Carolina is not a SEC power this season, an 85-80 victory should motivate the Tigers to prepare for a much better Alabama team.
The biggest move of the week was Auburn, which rose from 13th to eighth thanks to consecutive victories against Georgia and Kentucky.
And with that, here’s a look at the SEC men’s basketball power ratings over eight weeks of college basketball:
