On Saturday night, the race for the SEC was finally won.
Alabama basketball won its eighth SEC title of the regular season with its 64-59 victory over the State of Mississippi, the first since 2002. Crimson Tide’s victory over the Bulldogs was far from perfect, but Alabama managed to overcome the bad kick besides I have to take care of business again.
Alabama remains at the top of the SEC ranking due to its SEC title. However, another SEC team made a strong statement against Crimson Tide last week.
On Wednesday, Alabama made a trip to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks. While the Crimson Tide was able to defeat the Razorbacks quickly and easily on January 16 by a 90-59 margin, frequent failures and bad shots resulted in an overwhelming 81-66 victory for Arkansas this time around.
Arkansas made a strong statement last week to take the top spot at the SEC. However, Alabama has only two defeats at the conference, compared to four in Arkansas. Both teams have two regular season games going to the SEC Tournament. For now, Crimson Tide remains in first place, but Razorbacks are essentially in position 1b.
