SEC announces schedule for men’s basketball conference

The Southeast Conference today unveiled its men’s basketball schedule for the next 2020-21 campaign, which for Gamecocks, is set to begin on December 29 in Kentucky.

South Carolina has been approved to host fans at the Colonial Life Arena this season with a reduced capacity of approximately 3,500 seats available per game, with tickets in groups of two, four and six seats with approximately six feet of space between pods. Facial coverage will be required for staff and fans at all times and in all areas of the arena, and customers will also be required to follow SEC and University fan safety guidelines.

After opening the league game against the Wildcats, the Gamecocks begin the new year when Texas A&M visits Colonial Life Arena (Wednesday, January 6), before the Gamecocks head to Ole Miss for a fight on Saturday in January 9th. Carolina will host Tennessee (Tuesday, January 12), before two road fights at LSU (Saturday, January 16) and Missouri (Tuesday, January 19)

The Gamecocks begin a two-game homestand on Saturday, January 23 against Auburn, before hosting Georgia in the first of two meetings between the two schools for a midweek contest on Wednesday, January 27. Two consecutive days on the road, in Vanderbilt (Saturday, January 30) and Florida (Wednesday, February 3) are next for Gamecocks, before a three-game house sees Carolina hosting the State of Mississippi (Saturday , February 6), Alabama (Tuesday, February 9) and Ole Miss (Saturday, February 13).

The final stretch of the season begins with the trip back to Knoxville to face the Vols on Tuesday, February 16, before Missouri visits Colonial Life Arena that Saturday (February 20). Carolina concludes the season in the state of Mississippi (Wednesday, February 24) and Georgia (Saturday, February 27), and the end of the regular season will feature a home clash on Tuesday, March 2, against Arkansas.

The SEC tournament returns to the City of Music when the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, hosts the event from March 10 to 14, 2021.

For the 2020-21 season, all men’s basketball seats at the Colonial Life Arena will be awarded through a seat selection process, which will begin on Thursday, November 12th. Fans who had tickets for the 2019-20 season or who deposited tickets will be sent by email with the seat selection schedule on Friday, November 6, before the seat selection process begins on 12 November.
