Protesters gathered in downtown Seattle on Wednesday, causing damage to the city after President Joe Biden took office.
At least two people were arrested during the disturbances, one for property damage and one for assault, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Seattle police tweeted photos of the damage and said several sites were vandalized, including what appeared to be an Amazon Go store. Several windows were also broken at the William Kenzo Nakamura Court, police said.

The authorities added that they are monitoring the situation.
The protests started around 4:30 pm local time, with a handful of people gathering in a park before they started marching through the streets of downtown Seattle.
The group initially carried a sign that said “Abolish ICE”, [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] while another banner suggested they were protesting against Biden and the police, according to reports.

Some of the protesters threw objects to block drivers and hit those who were not participating in the demonstration, according to Seattle’s KOMO-TV.
The station reported that several vehicles had been damaged before authorities issued an order for the group to break up. At one point, protesters lit a burning American flag in the middle of an intersection, which was “quickly extinguished,” according to Seattle’s KING-TV.

The unrest came when Antifa protesters in Portland, Oregon, about 320 kilometers south of Seattle, clashed with officials on Wednesday.
A crowd of up to 150 people gathered at Revolution Hall at around 2 pm and marched to the headquarters of the Oregon Democratic Party, the Portland police sergeant. Kevin Allen said.

The so-called J20 protest in Portland was a demonstration against Biden and the police. Some of the group smashed windows, vandalized a building with graffiti and forced police to retreat.
