Antifa militants, upset over President Joe Biden’s inauguration, damaged several businesses during a chaotic night in Seattle, including the first Starbucks, a tourist attraction that draws coffee lovers to the historic site.
Videos posted on social media showed crowds of protesters marching through the city expressing disdain for Biden, who had sworn his office hours earlier and pleaded with the nation to unite. The police made three arrests for crimes that included theft, assault and property damage.

Starbucks’ first location was damaged during an anti-Biden protest in Seattle on Wednesday.

Leftist militants vandalized several buildings, used smoke cans and moved objects onto the road to create barriers, officials said. At one point, a group dressed in black lit a large American flag and smashed several windows.
Damage included Starbucks’ first lease, which opened in 1971 at Pike Place. Starbucks declined to comment.
Images released by the Seattle Police Department show broken shop windows and police tape covering the entrance. One of the arrests made was a 33-year-old man for property damage and coffee theft, police said.
Elsewhere, the windows of a building that houses an Amazon Go store have also been destroyed.
