After a series of complaints from players, it appears that the Black Ops Cold War’s Search and Destroy mode is recovering its Final Killcam.
Search and Destroy is one of the most iconic modes in the Call of Duty series. With two teams competing to plant a bomb or defend bomb locations, players have only one life to complete their goal.
What’s more, there are no Killcams to see after you die, for fear of revealing an enemy’s position. It’s a very different way that players love or hate.
But even those who love Search and Destroy will notice a big difference in Black Ops Cold War. In other words, the game no longer has Final Killcams, being replaced by a Best Play.

This means that the difficult endings of the Search and Destruction story are sometimes no longer visible to all players. Instead, someone will be introduced with a double hit at the start of the game, much to everyone’s disappointment.

Fortunately, it looks like things are about to change for Cold War fans.
Black Ops Cold War Search & Destroy Final Killcam Returning
Twitter user TheMW2Ghost said it best when he wrote about Treyarch ending the Search and Destroy vibe. According to the fan, they used to play the game mode simply to get “an insane random cross hatchet” for the final Killcam.
Now that there is no incentive to play, Search and Destroy has lost its appeal to this player. However, Treyarch is now confirming that the final Black Ops Cold War Search and Destroy Killcam will return.
In reply to TheMW2Ghost, Chief game designer Matt Scronce confirms that the final Killcam will return. However, it may be a little different than what longtime players remember.
According to Treyarch Designer, a hybrid system will combine Best Play and Final Killcam. The system will select a clip to show players, based on what the round ends.
This is great news for the Call of Duty community, but they will have to wait for implementation before celebrating. There is currently no ETA in the final Killcam going back to Cold War Search and Destroy.
However, when Treyarch returns from vacation, perhaps Matt Scronce will be able to provide more updates.
Unfortunately, while Treyarch is away, the Cold War Black Ops servers are in serious trouble. This is particularly frustrating for those trying to enjoy the Cold War New Year’s Double XP event.
Now that the servers seem to be coming back online, here’s how to quickly unlock the new sledgehammer from Black Ops Cold War. The latest Cold War update also adds a new Operator to the game.
