The news last month was that the Seahawks would likely cut off Carlos Dunlap’s defensive side before a $ 3 million bonus arrives at the start of the new league year and that change will take place on Monday.
PFT has confirmed several reports that Dunlap will be released. The move will free up more than $ 14 million in wage cap space for Seattle.
Dunlap was acquired in a trade with Bengals last season and had five sacks in eight games with the team. He revamped his contract to convert $ 3 million of his 2020 salary into bonuses he will not receive.
The Seahawks traded a choice for the seventh round and striker BJ Finney for Dunlap. Finney was released by Bengals last week.
Dunlap had six bags in total last season and has 87.5 in his career. He will try to increase this total by contacting a new team.
