Scientists warn that vaccines alone will not contain Covid infections in the UK as the UK facilitates blocking – study – RT UK News

Scientists at the University of Warwick have said that the vaccine launch in the UK alone will not contain Covid infections, in a potential warning to the government, as it continues with the roadmap to alleviate blocking restrictions.

Modeling by researchers, which took place before data was available on the real-world impact of the vaccine launch, established that, although vaccinations reduce the risk of another increase in infections, this cannot be done for just that reason.

Vaccination implantation in adults only is unlikely to completely stop the spread of COVID-19 cases in the UK.

Addressing the government’s proposed plan to facilitate blocking measures, the study described how the “The sudden release of restrictions can lead to a big wave of infection” suggesting that governments should take “many months” to get out of strikes across the country.

The United Kingdom has linked its plan to get out of the blockade to the launch of vaccines in the country, seeing vaccines as the key to “The road to freedom”, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson saying he is going to put the UK “On the right track to recover the things we love.”

But the research suggested that starting to decrease blocking measures last month would lead to 131,100 deaths from Covid in the UK by January 2024, while in April it would cause 61,400 deaths in the same period and, starting in June, would cost the lives of 53,900 people.

Rather than focusing entirely on vaccination, scientists said a series of measures, including mandatory masks, hygiene measures, self-isolation and testing and tracking systems, will need to remain in place to contain the virus.

The study was published on Friday in the Lancet Infectious Diseases, which contains a series of research papers exploring how the government is dealing with the Covid pandemic.
