Scarlett Johansson’s husband, Colin Jost, says they are fine: ‘It’s a good sign’

Colin Jost thinks that facing the coronavirus pandemic is a “very good sign” that his marriage is strong.

The Saturday Night Live star married Scarlett Johansson last October and things are going well at the moment, which he thinks proves that their union will last because the blockages caused by the global health crisis have made the past 12 months a stressful period for many couples.

‘It looks good,’ he told Entertainment Tonight when asked about his marriage. The comedian added: ‘If you can overcome this situation, it looks like a good sign.’

The 38-year-old comic admitted that he was not too involved in planning his nuptials with actress Black Widow because he knows that the 36-year-old beauty has “better taste” than he does.

He said, ‘I don’t pretend to know a lot about things or have a taste for things.

‘I am very happy to have someone who has much better taste and knowledge of things. This is more or less what I have learned in general in my life. I never thought, “Oh, should I wear this shirt?” … I never know, so I always prefer someone else to tell me.

And Colin was more focused on their wedding than the wedding itself, insisting that choosing his bride was a ‘much bigger decision’ than the details of his celebration.

He said: ‘I was much happier to get [that] right than any of the others.

‘I never grew up imagining the wedding of my dreams, like, this is what I want. I imagined my dream partner instead of my dream wedding. There are many details that I just didn’t even consider. ‘

After getting married in an intimate ceremony last fall, the couple found a sincere way to tell the world that they were “almost married”.

Instead of spreading the news through their representatives or delivering it to a media outlet, the news was announced on social media by the food charity Meals On Wheels America, giving it worldwide attention during the pandemic.

“Scarlett wanted to find a way to do something that had another kind of meaning or that could help in some way,” Jost recently told the Associated Press while promoting his latest film, Tom And Jerry.

Meals on Wheels offers meals across the country for those in need.

In November, a source told People that it took them only ‘weeks’ to plan their surprise nuptials.

The website added that the two said ‘yes’ at their historic four-bedroom home located in the suburbs of New York, which she bought for $ 4 million in 2018.

“They planned the wedding for just a few weeks,” a source told the website. ‘Only close friends and family attended.’

It was added: ‘They wanted a quiet, private ceremony with their close friends and family, and they did it.’

The setting was idyllic. In 2018, the Horse Whisperer star bought a house near the Hudson River for $ 4 million.

The white house, built in 1953, has a colonial feel, with solid wood floors and French windows.

Most importantly, the backyard is spacious, with a brick patio and stunning views of the Hudson River, as well as a large swimming pool and a cabin large enough to receive a reception.

The two have also been seen since the wedding and both wore brand new wedding rings – she is her neighborhood and he is on SNL.

The Match Point actress has been married twice: to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 (he is now married to Blake Lively). And French journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017. Together, they share six-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy Dauriac.

This is Jost’s first wedding, who has been a co-anchor for Weekend Update on SNL since 2014.

Colin and Scarlett started dating in 2017, but the couple first met in 2006, when he was an SNL writer and she hosted the show.

Plans for the wedding day were thrown into chaos in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is not the time to bring all of your elderly relatives at risk into one large group,” Jost recently told Andy Cohen. – I don’t know when that moment will be.

During his appearance on Ellen, the author of A Very Punchable Face addressed rumors that he is planning to leave SNL, insisting that he does not have a ‘timeline’ in mind and, at the moment, he is just grateful to be working.

He said, ‘I don’t have a real schedule. I mean, as if I had started to prepare myself psychologically for the concept of leaving, which I really hadn’t done. Certainly, quarantine makes you appreciate any job. ‘

Meanwhile, Colin admitted he was “so scared” of the wedding before he became engaged to the Hollywood actress.

He said, ‘I’m going to get married and it’s such a crazy thing. I was so scared of marriage for so long because every time I talked to someone who just got married, or was about to get married, it was like, Oh my God, you have to do this … What can happen wrong? Then you talk to someone who’s been married for five years and they’re like, ‘Don’t hurry … you have a whole life ahead of you’.

In Jost’s latest film, a new version of Tom and Jerry that combines animation with live action, Jost plays a groom at an elaborate high-profile wedding in a luxurious hotel.

Filmed before his own nuptials, Jost took some of his experience.

“My character is obviously overreacting in an attempt to please the bride and impress her father,” said Jost. ‘Learning about communication and trying to anticipate what your partner wants or needs at different times, I think is the most important lesson I have learned.’

He also said the film would drive people out of the global crisis.

‘It will be a real escape for people now. It’s fun and silly, and there’s really fun violence that I like among the characters, ‘said Colin.

“I think this is what people really love about Tom and Jerry. I think everyone is very good. … I think people will be excited to live in that world for a while and they won’t have to live in ours now. ‘
