SC app launched for people receiving unemployment benefits

COLUMBIA, SC (WRDW / WAGT) – South Carolina is trying to facilitate certification and verification of the unemployment insurance situation.

The state Department of Employment and Workforce has launched a new smartphone application.

It allows users to:

  • Complete weekly smartphone certification
  • View complaint status
  • View payment history
  • See the next available day to certify (provides countdown)
  • View DEW documents and correspondence

However, your initial unemployment claim needs to be made outside the application.

The application is now available for download on all Apple iOS and Android application-enabled products. Search for “SC DEW” in your app store.
