SB Nation Reacts: Did the Rockets get enough for James Harden?

This week’s version of SB Nation Reacts starts a series of Rocket-related questions for our local voters, in addition to the usual fan confidence rating and national questions. So, let’s start with our big one this week.

We asked our voters in Houston if they thought the new GM Rafael Stone would have enough in return in the deal with James Harden, and here’s the verdict:

I classified the deal as B when it happened, so I chose the poll. The draft chooses immediately and the exchanges are obviously substantial, and I like that Houston managed to get Victor Oladipo out of the deal. I wouldn’t have cared for a young, good player there, but this is getting more thorough. Was it an absolutely perfect deal? No. Did they get enough? Yes.

Our next question about Rockets was about fan confidence, which has remained high for the past few weeks and is still high this week. In fact, it is at its highest point throughout the season so far.

We also asked several national questions this week about the NBA in general, in particular the NBA All-Star game and the impact COVID is expected to have. The first question we asked is whether there should be an All-Star game in the light of the global pandemic. Voters spoke.

I actually voted yes, but I’m obviously in the minority. My feeling is that if regular season games are being played, why not the Star Game? I understand that a big part of the All-Star weekend is the fan experience, and that will obviously not be the same in the COVID era, but there is no reason not to play if players are interested.

The second question we asked is: if it ends up being an All-Star game, should there still be skills competitions?

“Why not”, is my answer? If players are practicing, playing and planning to play in the All-Star Game, there is not much additional risk with skill competitions. Just my two cents.

We will have more Rockets-related questions coming to you in the next four weeks, so now is a great time to sign up for SB Nation Reacts !!
