Saturday Night Live monologue by Daniel Kaluuya

“British racism is so bad that whites are gone.”

The actor – who competes for a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Oscar for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah – delivered a funny and brutally honest monologue on race and racism in the United Kingdom and the United States.

He also said that people often ask him whether British or American racism is worse.

“Let me put it this way. British racism is so bad that white people left. They wanted to be free – free to create their own type of racism.”

“That’s why they created Australia, South Africa and Boston.”

Kaluuya also played a clip of his Golden Globe acceptance speech made with Zoom – in which he was accidentally silenced due to a technical flaw – while referring to his iconic role in Jordan Peele’s horror film Get out.

“I was speechless – can you believe it?” He exclaimed. “I told the best joke of my life and I was speechless. I felt like I was in a submerged place. “

Who knows – maybe he’ll have a chance to tell that joke again at this year’s Oscar. Good luck, Daniel!
