For complete transparency, the answers will also include the question Satterfield asked earlier. Some responses have been edited for extension.

Initial comments from Satterfield

“I think, first of all, (Louisville sports director) Vince (Tyra) and I have a great relationship, an open relationship and an honest relationship. I think that when I first talked to him two years ago, I realized this is one of the reasons why I thought it would be a great opportunity to come to this university and that hasn’t changed. We still have a great relationship, an open relationship and we talk a lot about many different things. , I kept Vince informed of everything.

Report: Scott Satterfield gave a personal interview with South Carolina’s AD on Friday

“This is not the first suitor who came to call and he will not be the last. I am not thinking of leaving or going anywhere because someone has more money or something. That is not what I am looking for. A little different when it comes to that some people chase some things, but I’m not like that. My family, we love Louisville, people.

Question: It has been argued that Louisville can be a better job. Obviously, it depends on who you ask and where you live, but did Louisville make you want to stay?

“As I said: No. 1, our management is great. It’s great to work for them, they’re great people and what they stand for. That’s the most important thing for me. You have to be aligned from the top down. Everyone has to to be aligned to have a successful program and I feel that we have it here. What’s unique and different about Louisville is that there was a rapid growth at the conference. Just six or seven years in the league and it’s a growing program and we continue to build and this is exciting. With Louisville and the support we have, the extraordinary fans, the airport is three minutes away, there are many positive aspects that you can see here. ”

Did you worry about what the reaction to that might have been? You said it was just a “conversation”, but it may seem different to fans, especially hardcore fans.

“Yes, I’m not trying to offend any fans. We love this school, we love what we do here, we love our players and we are committed to them doing the best we can with them. Every day we wake up and think about what we can do to help our program. It’s not just me who is our team. It’s not just me, it’s about these players, coaches, the entire support team, these guys are fantastic and I love working with them. We want to continue building the program with support from everyone for everyone involved. ”
