Sarah Jessica Parker says the revival of ‘Sex in the City’ will solve the coronavirus pandemic

Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that the next “Sex and the City” revival will really see the characters face the coronavirus in New York.

It was announced earlier this month that HBO Max is bringing back the iconic drama series with a new chapter entitled “And Just Like That …” which will feature Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York).

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, will not return.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Parker said he has not yet received the script for the series, but is in full contact with the writers’ room. She confirmed that, because it was such an important event in New York City, the show will face the COVID-19 pandemic.

The star told the vehicle that the pandemic “will obviously be part of history, because this is the city [these characters] to live. And how did that change relationships after friends disappeared? I have great faith that the writers will examine everything. “

KIM CATTRALL IS NEVER RETURNING TO ‘SEX AND THE CITY’

“I think Cynthia, Kristin and I are all excited about the time,” said Parker. “Do you know, who are they in this world now? Did they adapt? What role did they play? Where did they fall short as women, as friends and how are they finding their way? Did they move with momentum? Some people who are confused, threatened, nervous [by what’s happening in the world]? I am so curious and excited to see how writers imagine these women today. “

Parker first announced the news of a revival of the series on his Instagram with a life reel around New York, along with his character typing the words “And so … The story continues …”

It would make sense for the characters to at least recognize the coronavirus and its effect on the city. At the beginning of the pandemic, the city was hit hard and became the epicenter of the infection.
