Sarah Jessica Parker on ‘SATC’ reboot: no fourth lead

Sarah Jessica Parker says there are no plans to replace Kim Cattrall in the “Sex and the City” reboot.

Parker, the show’s star and executive producer, was spotted in New York on Wednesday and said Cattrall’s departure does not mean that a different actor will join the remaining three protagonists.

“We are not looking to create a fourth character,” revealed Parker, 55, adding: “We have New York as a great character. There will be many interesting new characters that we are excited about. “

The original stars Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon signed on to the next HBO Max series – without Cattrall, who expressed his disgust over the past few years for Parker and any future “SATC” projects.

Parker also said on Wednesday that the cast has not yet started filming and that the COVID-19 vaccine “is playing an important role in this”.

But she can’t wait to “shoot in the city we love”, saying that “she hopes to be part of a city that is able to support our businesses and culture and institutions that were closed and businesses that were hurt in the process.”

This week, Parker confirmed that the 10-episode reboot, called “And Just Like That …”, will debut on HBO Max.

Parker said he will miss Cattrall while filming the new series, despite his alleged rivalry.

Meanwhile, Cattrall, 64, has not yet publicly commented on not joining the reboot, but suggested via Twitter that she was “putting herself first.”
