Santos CB Marshon Lattimore Arrested and Arrested in Cleveland: Report | Saints

New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Thursday night in his hometown Cleveland, according to a report by cleveland.com.

Lattimore, 24, was arrested by Cleveland gang investigators at about 10:30 pm on suspicion of having received stolen property, the report said. Although he was not formally charged, prison records show that Lattimore was arrested at Cuyahoga County Jail.

Details of his arrest were not released. Follow-up calls to the Cuyahoga County Jail were not answered.

There are some conditions to be met so that receiving stolen goods is formally considered a crime. The Ohio law code states that “no person should receive, retain or dispose of property from another person who knows or has reasonable reason to believe that the property was obtained through the crime of theft”.

If the value of the stolen goods is less than $ 1,000, this is considered a misdemeanor. Anything worth more than $ 1,000 is considered a crime to varying degrees, depending on the value or type of property stolen.

Lattimore starred at Glenville High School in Cleveland before studying at Ohio State. Saints selected him 11th overall in the 2017 draft, and he became the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year.

In four professional seasons, Lattimore has made the Pro Bowl three times. He intercepted 10 passes and saved 55 in 57 career games.

Santos exercised the fifth year option in its debut contract last spring, which means that Lattimore is entering the last year of its initial contract with Santos this season.

He is expected to earn $ 10.24 million in 2021, and the Saints suggested that they would like to hire him for a long-term extension.
