San Diego’s Petco Park super vaccination station will close again from Saturday due to the national shortage of Modern vaccines COVID-19, a county spokesman confirmed to NBC 7.

The county spokesman said the closure would last until Tuesday.

It is the second time that disruptions in supply have forced a break at one of San Diego’s largest vaccination sites. Dave Summers of NBC 7 has more.

Appointments for the second dose will be automatically rescheduled, the spokesman said. Those affected by delays are advised to check their MyUCSDChart account or look for an email with details about their new appointment date.

Petco Park administers only Modern vaccines. No information on how this shortage across the country will affect other vaccination sites has been released.

This is also the second weekend that the Petco Park vaccine site faces closure.

The extreme winter in parts of the US delayed delivery of doses last week.

This also occurs days after the county announces employees in schools, education and day care; Non-medical emergency responders and workers in the food and agriculture sectors will be eligible for vaccination starting on Saturday.
