San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich took the COVID-19 vaccine, releasing the ad on Thursday to encourage others to get the injection when they get the chance.
Popovich released the news on his 72nd birthday. He made the announcement through the NBA in the form of a video, as did Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 73, the league’s all-time scorer, last week. Both are within the age guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding vaccine eligibility.
