Samuel L. Jackson Dons Avengers Mask to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

Samuel L. Jackson posted a photo of himself wearing an Avengers-themed mask while waiting to receive the first dose of his coronavirus vaccine (COVID-19).

The Marvel Cinematic Universe actor posted the photos on Instagram on January 24, along with the caption, “In the Forum receiving that first jab !!” The first photo captured Jackson leaning out of his car and taking a photo of the queue he was waiting for outside The Forum in Los Angeles. The second photo was a selfie of the actor in his car wearing a mask, which featured animated depictions of Nick Fury, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk.

The Forum is one of several public places in California turned into vaccination sites. Disneyland will be one of those five “Super Point-of-Dispensing” sites. The Disneyland website is distributing vaccines to qualified recipients who made an appointment through their employer. Currently, the Disneyland website is not accepting occasional visits.

Jackson has played SHIELD director Nick Fury at the MCU since 2008 Iron Man. The BAFTA-winning actor has appeared in 11 MCU films so far. Jackson last appeared as Nick Fury in 2019 Spider-Man: away from home. The story centered on the director of SHIELD will be written and produced by Kyle Bradstreet. Nick Fury joins other MCU series on Disney +, including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Mrs. Marvel and Moon Knight. The series will premiere on Disney + at an unspecified date in the future.

The 72-year-old actor joined a list of celebrities aged 65 and over who recently received the vaccine, including Steve Martin, Martha Stewart, Joan Collins and Ian McKellan. At the time, McKellan, 81, received his vaccine, the Lord of the Rings and X-Men The actor told reporters, “I am feeling very happy, relieved and optimistic and everything I haven’t felt in a long time. I couldn’t be happier.”
